The Nurse Anesthesia school admissions process is extraordinarily time-consuming and highly competitive and anyone considering this path should expect it to take a number of years. For the 4,000 available seats in the 124 Nurse Anesthesia programs at the time, there were close to 20,000 applications submitted in 2020.
I have three businesses- my anesthesia services is the main one that I do. My 7:00 to 3:00 Monday through Friday, usually unless I just want to take off and that is Priority First Anesthesia. It took me like 11 years, 11-12 years for me to get from being a SurgicalTech to actually starting in a CRNA program and I did it.
I am also the owner of Priority First Anesthesia, The CRNA Chase, and partner of HealthShield Credentialing with one of my good friends, Andi which I’m really excited about. And that was me too when I was a surgicaltech. My son graduated on a Friday morning and the next day we moved to Maine.
I gave a presentation called Going Beyond Opioids: Redefining Pain Management and I really enjoyed getting to share about the benefits of opioid sparing surgery, regional anesthesia, and complementary therapies that we can use alongside traditional care. My presentation is available online to watch if you want to check it out.
