As requested, I will do my best to cover as many specialties as possible and list patient positioning, packs, drapes, etc. This may or may not be the same as other facilities, so keep that in mind. We are also a smaller facility, so we don’t do things like open heart or neuro, so we will have smaller, basic setups. There will also be similar cases with doctors that may drape differently from one another.

Getting recommended for surgery is stressful. In fact, up to 92% of patients experience anxiety before surgeryand understandably, some hesitate to schedule a date right away. In some cases, patients simply want a second opinion. They may have questions about how to prepare or what they’ll owe. Others may feel afraid of anesthesia or recovery, or they may be waiting on an important approval, like an insurance authorization or pre-op clearance.
