The visiting alumni included Karen Retzner, Joan Burton, Marty Perkins, Wendy Ross and Lorraine Woodard, all of whom graduated from the radiography program back in 1973. Retzner, who helped organize the event, is currently a practicing nurse in Indianapolis but kept her radiography licensing active until last year.

I loved the RT program and was employed for years as a Respiratory Therapist in a hospital and sleep lab setting. Nearly two years later, I returned to the program and I am now a proud registered nurse (RN) at Banner Hospital. The school’s support system, including advisors, financial aid and instructors made it an easy choice.

An extensive educational background in radiology or radiography is among the requirements for becoming a mammography tech. In some hospitals, the cardiovascular technologist will assist doctors during open heart surgery, and with the insertion of pacemakers or stents.
